I don’t think you are going to have much luck without the schooling and this field is very hard to get into. I checked into it some 25 years ago and the guy I was talking to said that most of the time you end up having to take a job as a DJ in some small remote area in order to get some time under your belt and build a name for yourself and then try to apply with a larger radio station, but good luck anyway.

Question by Alex the Orange: What is your favorite XM radio channel and why?
Just looking for new stuff to listen to.

Answer by shoutatthellamas
I have Sirius so I’m not sure which ones are both XM and Sirius but I listen to Faction(channel 28 Sirius and I think 52 for XM) for The Jason Ellis Show. He’s on weekdays 2-6pm central. I also listen to Lithium and Octane(channels 24 and 20, not sure about XM). Lithium is 90′s alternative/grunge and Octane is modern rock/hard rock. Btw, Faction when Ellis isn’t on is punk/rock/hip-hop.

Question by shellsuga: Where can I find a CD Radio that resumes playback when I turn it on where I left it when it is turned off?
This is for my grandfather who is blind and needs to be able to resume an audio book should he need to turn it off. His current radio times out on pause and shuts down. This causes him to have to start the book over again. This feature is available for car cd radios, are there not radios for homes with it?

My Kenwood home stereo (about 10 years old now) has that feature. I would assume that they would keep it on newer models. Shop around.
